Pick your language
Every story exists in all five, so a story you know in one language is a stepping stone into the next.
Pick your level
Start where reading feels comfortable. Change it any time, even inside a story.
Watch the story grow
One sentence of “Atmen im Vier-Takt”, a German story about breathing before an exam, at the four levels. Same scene, same Lena, richer language each step.
- A1
Zehn Minuten vor ihrer Prüfung schlug Lenas Herz schnell.
- A2
In English: ten minutes before her exam, Lena’s heart was racing and her hands would not stay still. Read the whole story at A1 →

Questions
Which level should I start at?
The one where you understand most of a story without effort. A2–B1 suits most people who've had some school lessons. You can change it anytime, and switch inside any story.
Do I need an account?
No. There is nothing to sign up for. Your progress stays on your device.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Everything already on your device works without a connection; new stories arrive when you're back online.
Is there an Android version?
Not yet — Journeva is for iPhone and iPad. If you'd use it on Android, send a one-line email to [email protected] with "Android" in the subject; we count them. Until then, every story is free to read at A1 on the web.
