A Five-Minute Breakfast: Avocado Toast

No stove, no oven — just bread, an avocado, and five minutes.

Level A1 · Beginner

Some mornings, there is no time to cook. On these days, avocado toast is a good friend. It takes only five minutes. It needs just a few things.

First, put two slices of bread in the toaster. While the bread toasts, cut a ripe avocado in half. Take out the seed.

With a spoon, put the soft green avocado in a small bowl. Add a little salt, a little pepper, and a little lemon juice. Mash it gently with a fork.

When the toast is ready, spread the avocado on top. Make it nice and thick. If you like, add a tomato slice or a fried egg.

That's it! A warm, simple breakfast. It gives you energy for the morning. And there is almost nothing to wash.
