Golden Milk

A warm, five-minute evening ritual poured from Indian kitchens for generations.

Level A1 · Beginner

Some evenings, the mind is still busy. The body wants to rest, but thoughts keep running. In many Indian homes, there is an old answer: a warm cup of golden milk.

You need only a few things: milk (or oat milk), a spoon of honey, a pinch of turmeric, and a small pinch of cinnamon.

Warm the milk gently in a small pot. Do not let it boil. Add the turmeric and stir. The milk turns a soft golden color.

Add the honey and the cinnamon. Stir again. Pour the warm milk into your favorite cup.

Sit down. Hold the warm cup with both hands. Drink slowly. The five quiet minutes matter as much as the drink itself.
